Architecture has overcome its initial pattern of intended use and shape long time ago, forming an important segment of social (non) movements. The space we live in unifies the existential purposes and hereby reveals the extension in which the society is forming. Such formation withdraws partial or total compliance with the modern spheres of interest in which the human being generates the new spatial metaphorical dimension. To point out to the layers of architectural space means to explain the guidelines of its present development in such manner so that they are inseparable from the ecological awareness. Changes which societies go through modify their relation towards the size and role of the living space; now, they hint an era of humane architecture which paints the space into an individual standpoint. The proper relation with the space contains the social responsibility because it starts from the point of inherited and found state up to the point of complete transformation. With all that considered, the architecture becomes a crucial parameter of overall awareness development and striving of the society to take over the power that belongs to it.
Modern architectural narrative reveals the transformative power of space not only in big cities, but also in smaller areas that are sensitive to rapid construction interventions. The core of transformation lies in the interweaving of intended use of such space and revealing its role as a participant in social life. Today, it implies to the creation of ecological, social, cultural and educational dimension of a certain space. If that thought process is properly rounded, the newly-created architectural piece raises important social questions and attracts attention in segments which provide its preservation in time that comes. Preserving architecture and its thoughtful creation maintains the society healthy and it points it in the direction of larger spatial perception.
Spatial perception around us is a condition for the existence of spatial care inside us, and that is the mission of modern architecture, because it deals with revealing the interpersonal influence and a way in which today’s spaces are given a task to bring the social diversities closer together. As any other communication, spatial communication starts with aware creation of clear messages (shapes in this case) which point the viewer to the final experience of space and it is not pointed in only one direction at all. One of important factors of successfulness and cohabitation within the space is an additional dimension of its social usefulness. Today, the man has a need to use space as the expression tool, and not only as their place of living, and for that reason, contemporary narrative is substantially turned towards the architecture which provides the social engagement of the man. Such engagement consists of ecological awareness, but also technological upgrade which additionally accelerates the social processes. The architecture connects processes which materiality is disabled and it simultaneously offers universal solutions. Therefore, space can be viewed as the social conceptual drive which empowers the basic ideas of progress. If the space is viewed as inseparable part of community, we can see that the idea about any type of intervention in such space has to be executed in a planning manner, in order for its sense of existence to remain intact.
The purpose of architecture is to remind us to the creativity of planned action and spatial significance for the multidimensionality of one’s existence, and thanks to modern movements, architectural action becomes an important part of a society. In such academic and artistic climate, space is something more than existential conditioning and it lives up to its full potential in leading social movements.
