On Thursday, September 17th at 7 PM, the terrace of Studio 315 served as the perfect backdrop for “More Than Light”-an event hosted by NRA Atelier in collaboration with DC Light Systems. Moving far beyond mere functionality, the evening centered on light as a living, architectural force that shapes space and emotion. Our guest speakers from Intra Lighting, Barbara Žgavec Habe (Regional Manager, Intra Lighting Slovenia) and Hrvoje Huđin (Head of Project Department & Lighting Specialist, Intra Lighting Croatia), enriched the dialogue by sharing their extensive expertise and vision.
Throughout the presentation and discussion, lighting was treated not merely as a technical necessity, but as an immaterial building material—one that shapes volume, mood, and the intangible emotion of a space. Bringing a wealth of long-standing expertise, our partners from Intra Lighting delivered an inspiring showcase, guiding us through the subtle nuances of modern design, technological innovation, and visionary approaches that redefine the line between what is seen and what is felt. Ultimately, this reinforced a core phenomenological truth: light is not just a medium through which we view architecture, but a fundamental force that gives it character, alters our perception of space, and transforms a static design into a living, deeply personal experience.
What truly elevated the gathering was the opportunity to immediately translate theoretical ideas into a direct, sensory experience through hands-on work with physical samples. Attendees were able to explore directional light beams both visually and tactilely, test reflections, and observe in real time how different spectrums interact with textures, shadows, and materials.
